Compared with the June quarter, profit rose about 4%. The June quarter had included a one-time loss of ₹668 crore linked to a legal claim settlement, which made that base lower.
TCS dividend: record date and payment date
The board declared a second interim dividend of ₹12 per share (face value ₹1) for FY27. To receive it, you must hold TCS shares on the record date, October 14, 2026. Because Indian shares settle on a T+1 basis, buy at least one trading day before the record date. The dividend will be paid on October 30, 2026. TCS also paid ₹12 per share in July.
Remember that dividends are taxed in your hands at your income tax slab rate, and TDS applies if your dividend income from the company is above ₹10,000 in a year.
AI crosses $3 billion, new deals with Porsche and Best Buy
TCS said its annualised AI revenue has reached $3.1 billion, more than 10% of its total revenue. It also announced deals with Porsche and Best Buy, which it calls a new kind of “transformation partnership”, and said it will buy German consultancy MHP for about ₹3,484 crore.
CEO K Krithivasan said the company was “pleased with the broad-based growth in all our international markets and most industry segments.”
What it means for shareholders
- TCS shares closed 0.4% lower at ₹2,075.25 on result day, as the numbers were released after market hours.
- Strong cash flow (₹14,190 crore, about 102% of net profit) supports regular dividends.
- A risk to watch: the US has suspended TCS and other IT firms from its green card (PERM) programme, which could affect staff in the US.
